تحظي التنمية الشاملة بكل أنواعها أهمية كبيرة في جميع المجتمعات، ولكن الدولة وحدها تعثرت في تنفيذ خطط التنمية الشاملة، الأمر الذي دفع المجتمعات إلى البحث عن مخرج او منهج يكون أكثر التزاماً بالبعد الاجتماعي وأكثر مرونة في العمل التنموي، ولا يسعي إلى الربح، فضلاً عن وجود أفكار متجددة ومبدعة ومبتكرة لمواجهة احتياجات المجتمع الذي تعمل فيه، وتمثل هذا المنهج في جهود وأنشطة الجمعيات الأهلية.
ومن هنا تمثلت مشكلة الزيادة السكانية على أنها إحدى أخطر المشكلات الضخمة التي تؤرق الاقتصاد المصري وتعوق التنمية في كل المجالات، لما تسببه من خطورة بالغة تؤدي إلى ضعف معدلات الإنتاج وعدم تناسبها مع معدلات الاستهلاك، وتثير المشكلة السكانية تحديات كبيرة تعوق عملية التنمية في مصر، وعلى الرغم من الجهود التي بذلت للحد من هذه المشكلة إلا أن معدل النمو السكاني ما زال مرتفعاً، الأمر الذي يتطلب مزيداً من التوعية بخطورة الزيادة السكانية المتسارعة.

Comprehensive development of all kinds is of great importance in all societies, but the state alone has stumbled in implementing comprehensive development plans, which prompted societies to search for a way out or an approach that is more committed to the social dimension and more flexible in development work, and does not seek profit, in addition to having Renewable, creative and innovative ideas to meet the needs of the community in which it operates, and this approach is represented in the efforts and activities of NGOs.
Hence, the problem of overpopulation was represented as one of the most serious and huge problems that afflict the Egyptian economy and impede development in all fields, because of the great danger it causes that leads to weak production rates and their disproportion with consumption rates, and the population problem raises great challenges that hinder the development process in Egypt. Despite the efforts that have been made to reduce this problem, the population growth rate is still high, which requires more awareness of the seriousness of the rapid population increase.
